Construction Technical Services Manager: Life Sciences - Cary/Wilson, North Carolina. Jacobs is seeking a Construction Technical Services Manager to lead and deliver technical services for life sciences projects based in Cary, NC, with project work located in Wilson, NC. Responsibilities
Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications; clarify and, when required, expedite home office/responsible engineer(s) response to meet project needs in a timely manner Ensure liaison with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives Provide on-site technical support in interpretation of engineering released documents, specifications, and drawings, including input to the change management process within technical expertise Lead Jacobs effort in the Permitting process with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) Coordinate with Design-Build contractors as their efforts move to the field Lead the construction document management process, providing oversight through a construction document control lead Ensure effective communication with subcontractors leading to receipt and management of all key drawings and documents in a revision-controlled manner Ensure revision control is in place for all construction documents and that contractors have the latest revisions Manage, control, and communicate all timely information related to potential changes in design and installation Manage the field sketch/redline process for changes Collaborate with Project Controls and Construction to lead and manage the Field Design Revision process Act as technically competent lead in response to requests for specification deviation, within the project-approved deviation process Work with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve Nonconformities (NCRs) Provide leadership and mentorship to the team to meet objectives and deliverables Location and Schedule
You will be based out of our Cary, North Carolina office, but project site work is in Wilson, North Carolina. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience; certified technical training accepted 10+ years of field experience in engineering and construction of heavy-industrial process facilities Understanding of construction means, methods, codes, and standards Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes Understanding of commercial requirements and constraints on E/EP/EPC/EPCM projects Preferred

Base pay range: $120,400.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr. Within the range, pay is determined by work location and factors including skills, experience, and education. Jacobs offers medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, stock purchase options, and additional benefits. Some roles may be eligible for bonuses or other incentives.
