As the Director of MEP Services – Lifestyle, you will lead and coordinate all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) strategy and execution across new developments, hotel renovations, and capital improvements in the Americas. You will work closely with internal design leadership and external consultants to ensure MEP systems support brand ethos, design intent, and operational functionality throughout the project lifecycle. This role bridges the design and construction gap, guiding MEP planning in new builds, participating in design reviews, ensuring long-term maintainability, and supporting handover to hotel operations. Your goal is to ensure each property functions as beautifully as it looks. Key Responsibilities
New Development / New Projects & Coordination with MEP Consultants and In-House Design Team: act as primary liaison between internal design teams and external MEP consultants for new developments and major renovations; translate design vision into technically sound MEP solutions; participate in feasibility, LOI, schematic design; lead MEP technical reviews, drawing coordination, and system validation; ensure deliverables meet design, cost, and sustainability objectives; influence decisions on system types and integration. Regular Review & Project Work with In-House Design Team: embed as a technical voice within the Design & Technical Services team; participate in design coordination meetings; provide input on space planning for technical rooms; support VE exercises; identify MEP technologies for sustainability and long-term maintainability. CAPEX Work & Coordination with In-House Design Team: provide MEP design oversight for CAPEX and renovations across operating properties; review infrastructure upgrade scopes; participate in five-year CAPEX planning; collaborate on RFPs and consultant selections; ensure CAPEX projects reflect progressive, sustainable design and resilience. Participating in Openings & Integrating On-Property Engineers: act as the technical bridge during openings; coordinate with on-property Engineering teams during late-stage construction and handover; oversee MEP commissioning, startup protocols, and documentation handover; guide local Chief Engineers on design intent and maintenance; train hotel engineering teams on system nuances; travel as required for project support. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (Master’s preferred) 7–10 years’ experience in MEP design coordination or technical services, ideally in hospitality, lifestyle, or mixed-use sectors Strong understanding of regional building codes, sustainability benchmarks, and cross-border project experience Proven experience translating architectural intent into executable, guest-centric engineering solutions Skilled in reading and marking up drawings; experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or BIM platforms a plus Familiarity with luxury/lifestyle hospitality standards and brand guidelines The salary range for this position is $147,250 - $162,750. The final pay rate will depend on experience, skill level, and location, and will meet local requirements. EEO Statement
