Controller
to establish and scale the finance and accounting function. This hands-on leadership role will oversee a high volume of transactions while designing and implementing the systems, processes, and team structure needed to drive the company’s next phase of growth. Key Responsibilities
Own the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including customer invoicing and vendor payments. Oversee cash management activities, including daily monitoring of cash balances, forecasting short-term and long-term cash needs, and optimizing liquidity Administer corporate credit card and purchasing card programs, ensuring proper controls and reporting. Manage banking relationships, including account structures, services, fees, and credit facilities. Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to support operational needs, capital investments, and financing strategies. Maintain accurate general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries. Manage monthly and quarterly close processes. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax filings, and regulatory requirements. Maintain outsourced support relationships. Implement scalable accounting and finance systems. Build processes to support revenue recognition, contract review, and financial controls. Support tracking of KPIs and dashboards to support executive decision-making. Partner with leadership on forecasting cash flow and managing budget. Provide input on pricing, contracting, and vendor negotiations. Recruit and manage initial finance and accounting teams. Establish a high-performance culture in the finance function. Qualifications
5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2–3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role. CPA strongly preferred; mix of public accounting and startup/high-growth company experience is ideal. Hands-on operator who is comfortable processing transactions while building systems. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and controls. Experience with various revenue modes and/or in technology, healthcare, staffing, or HR services a plus.
