Description The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a cleared cartographic analyst to support our customer in Springfield, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience in GIS analysis to support a dynamic national security customer. The successful candidate will work as a member of a government-contractor team providing cartographic production and analysis. The candidate should have a strong geospatial background and the ability to work independently as well as collaborate on projects. Position requires a current TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph. Primary Responsibilities The Cartographic Analyst will work within a government/contractor team environment providing Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion, Production, and Review, as well as support to existing and developing mission areas. This includes future needs and capabilities, developmental assignments, and may involve Digital Nautical Chart and Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion production by performing Cartographic and GIS analyst functions, extracting features from sources such as rasterized nautical charts, digital hydrographic survey data, and ortho-rectified imagery. Responsibilities also include updating source catalogs and information, data conversion/migration, and supporting digital data formats. Basic Qualifications Requires 5 points of relevant background, which can be: High School diploma AND 5 years' relevant military or full-time geospatial professional experience, or High School diploma AND 4 years + GPC Level I and II, or Relevant Bachelor's degree + 2 years' experience. Experience in geography, cartography, and GIS, including skills in ArcGIS applications. Experience creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features. Knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, GIS, geospatial production techniques, and NGA digital data formats. Ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery sources for NGA hydrographic products and databases. Preferred Qualifications Previous Nautical Maritime experience is preferred.
