We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Power BI Developer to drive enterprise-level reporting initiatives focused on Agile and DevOps delivery. This role requires strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data engineering concepts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating dynamic dashboards and reports by connecting to diverse data systems (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins) and converting business requirements into actionable insights. A background in Agile/Scrum environments is essential, along with experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into reporting solutions.
What you will do in this role
Lead the design and development of advanced Power BI dashboards and reports that support Agile delivery metrics, DevOps performance, and operational insights.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective, user-friendly dashboards.
Connect and retrieve data from various systems and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, SQL Server, APIs).
Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and prepare data for reporting use.
Oversee the migration of legacy reports and dashboards into the Power BI ecosystem.
Apply AI/ML visual capabilities and forecasting within Power BI to enable predictive insights.
Develop and maintain data models that support scalable, performant, and accurate reporting.
Ensure adherence to data governance and compliance standards across all reporting initiatives.
Work closely with Agile teams to align reporting with iterative development cycles and team-level objectives.
Support continuous improvement efforts by gathering user feedback and enhancing existing reports.
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members on Power BI tools, techniques, and best practices.
Familiarity with Grafana and/or LinearB is a plus, especially for teams visualizing engineering metrics beyond Power BI.
What qualifications you will need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field – Required
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
6+ years of experience in reporting and business intelligence with hands-on Power BI development - Required
Strong background in SQL and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses - Required
2+ years working in Agile/Scrum environments with an understanding of Agile metrics and reporting needs - Required
Experience integrating data from DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, and Jira - Required
Demonstrated success in designing and deploying dashboards used for executive-level decision-making - Required
Exposure to data engineering workflows, ETL processes, and API data integration - Preferred
Licenses, Certifications, & Training
Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) - Required
Scrum Master or Product Owner certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe) - Preferred
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or related cloud certification - Preferred
Ongoing training or certification in data visualization, reporting, or AI/ML analytics - Preferred
Work Location/Schedule
Nashville, TN area (near Centennial Park)
Onsite: M-F, 8am – 5pm
