Job Description
We have a requirement for a Web Developer at Suitland, MD, for a full-time position. If you are not available or not a good match for this job opportunity, please refer someone else. Job details are mentioned below: Title: Web Developer Location: Suitland, MD Duration: Full-time position The Junior Web Developer creates and updates survey content, navigates specification documents in Word, Excel, and/or PDF, and communicates directly with sponsors. The role ensures all pages are 508 compliant, creates and updates features of surveys, and writes basic code. Responsibilities include: Working on surveys from beginning to end, from initial specification documents to production server and repeating when they roll over from year to year Creating and updating survey content, testing, and ensuring a survey's existence on production Navigating specification documents in Word, Excel, and/or PDF files Communicating directly with sponsors about expectations and clarifying ambiguous text in specifications Basic Linux navigation (text editor, running scripts) Verification of forms and behind-the-scenes calculations for each survey in Perl Making certain all pages are 508 compliant Navigating surveys to corresponding PDF forms in Acrobat Pro Creating, updating, and implementing features as requested by sponsors Using Perl code to add JavaScript plugins to surveys and parsing data for information Testing and bug fixing, involving monitoring the tracker for each in-testing survey and fixing issues as needed Required skills include: A basic understanding of how databases function Writing basic code in Perl, JavaScript The ability to work independently and take on responsibilities outside of comfort zone Grasping technical concepts quickly and efficiently Good communication skills B.S. Degree in Computer Science or a related field (highly preferred) Qualifications
