Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled Environmental Planner to support planning and environmental compliance for municipal infrastructure and community development projects. This role focuses on ensuring city-led initiatives meet environmental regulations while promoting sustainable growth and resilience. Reporting to the Redding, CA office, 2/3 days a week is
required . Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities
Prepare and manage environmental documentation for city projects in compliance with CEQA, NEPA, and local ordinances. Support planning and permitting for municipal infrastructure such as roads, parks, public buildings, and water/wastewater systems. Conduct environmental impact assessments and mitigation planning. Coordinate with city departments, regional agencies, and the public to ensure transparent and compliant project development. Review development proposals for environmental consistency with city plans and policies. Assist in grant applications and reporting for environmentally focused funding opportunities. Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in environmental planning, preferably in a municipal or public sector setting. Strong working knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and California environmental regulations. Experience with public engagement and interagency coordination. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in GIS and environmental modeling tools is a plus. Experience with stormwater management, habitat conservation, and climate adaptation strategies. Ability to interpret and apply local zoning and land use regulations. Knowledge of grant writing and funding mechanisms for public infrastructure. Benefits
