Project Engineer – Hospital Renovation (Owner’s Representative) - Location: Randalls Island. We are seeking a detailed-oriented Project Engineer to join the Construction Management team overseeing a major hospital rehabilitation and renovation project on behalf of the State of New York. Client is OGS Office of General Services. Support the CM team in overseeing day-to-day construction activities performed by the General Contractor and subcontractors. Review RFIs, submittals, and change orders for compliance with contract documents. Assist in monitoring project schedules, look-aheads, and critical path activities. Participate in site walks to document progress, quality, and adherence to hospital protocols (infection control, safety, noise, and phasing). Track and maintain logs of design clarifications, drawing revisions, and field directives. Support review of pay applications, change order proposals, and cost tracking. Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation for State review. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and State stakeholders to facilitate timely decision-making. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). 6 to 8 years construction experience; healthcare or public-sector project experience preferred. Familiarity with New York State OGS design and construction requirements is a plus. Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and MEP coordination. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction/project management software (Procore, Primavera, Bluebeam, or similar). Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills. Compensation: Min $80,000 to $110,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined based on qualifications and location. Employment type: Full-time. Seniority level: Mid-Senior level.
