Advocates and supports the Corporate Win Strategy by managing the quality operations in the assigned value stream. Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality standards for products and processes. Provides statistical information for quality improvement by gathering data on trends and root cause analysis. Guides technical evaluation, analysis, and data acquisition to ensure plant quality objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day resources to support inspection throughout the facility (receiving, final, Zeiss room). Report daily and monthly goals to upper management.
Expand cross-training within the inspection department to improve team flexibility.
Develop additional CMM inspection resources.
Optimize final inspection processes to improve throughput and minimize inspectors’ touch time.
Manage costs within the inspection department, including overtime and equipment needs.
Manage the First Article Inspection process throughout the facility.
Assess quality performance using statistical and analytical methods; devise and implement methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating product quality, processes, and equipment.
Prepare reports by collecting, interpreting, and summarizing data; make recommendations; analyze proposed changes in methods and materials; develop training materials and conduct training on quality control activities.
Participate in failure analysis and corrective action investigations; apply continuous improvement and lean principles to critical production areas.
Interface with customers and assist with internal and external audits; develop corrective action procedures and plans.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education and industry networks; consider ASQ certification and participation in professional associations.
Qualifications / Requirements
Education: B.A. or B.S. in a related technical or business discipline, plus two or more years of manufacturing quality experience or training in a related function.
Practical knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, and quality or operations support.
Ability to analyze reports using information systems (e.g., MRP or similar planning/execution systems).
General knowledge of business and government regulations (e.g., manufacturing specifications, FAA, safety).
Experience developing and mentoring team members; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation
Pay range: $84,050.00/annually to $145,250.00/annually.
Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
