Information Systems Security Engineer L2
– Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80919. Salary: $130,000 - $150,000. Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a skilled Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) Level 2 to support the United States Space Force (USSF). This role involves performing cybersecurity tasks for classified networks and supporting the development and deployment of advanced test and training capabilities to maintain space superiority. Candidates should have strong knowledge of DoD and IC standards, solid technical expertise, and excellent communication skills in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment. Responsibilities
Perform cybersecurity tasks for classified networks and support RMF-based information assurance activities for mission-critical defense programs. Apply IT security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of system data and resources; secure necessary approvals from configuration managers. Develop and present cybersecurity documentation and briefings to government stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Lead vulnerability management, including documentation and tracking through POA&Ms, Security Controls Traceability Matrices, and communication with AO/SCAs. Support cybersecurity assessments and authorizations (A&A); prepare ATO and IATT documentation for systems, networks, and applications. Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate security objectives and system performance. Create and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs). Manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across large and diverse teams. Complete required DoD cybersecurity training and maintain relevant certifications as required. Qualifications
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Over 5 years of cybersecurity experience supporting DoD and/or IC IA activities in alignment with RMF. Proven expertise in applying IT security controls to protect information and systems. Experience evaluating hardware and software designs to deliver technical recommendations that enhance security. Strong analytical and engineering skills; the ability to develop and present cybersecurity documentation and briefings to government stakeholders. Extensive experience in vulnerability management and coordination with AOs and SCAs. Experience in cybersecurity assessments and authorizations (A&A) and documentation such as ATO/IATT. BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution. One or more of the following certifications (required): Security+, CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP, or equivalent military training/certification.
