Tesla What to Expect

Tesla is re-thinking how batteries are made from the ground up. We’re designing new factories, new equipment, new processes and new software to rapidly scale battery manufacturing, globally. The primary bottleneck to Tesla’s future expansion is our ability to produce and procure batteries. Software, data and automation all play a huge part in this strategy. We’ve built software from scratch with a nimble and high performing team to meet the specific needs of Tesla’s rapid battery manufacturing scale up. This software tracks every component of the cell manufacturing process and acts as the brain of the entire cell factory. The Cell Software team builds solutions that enable modern, distributed, fault-tolerant software with a strong user experience for manufacturing systems. Our stack includes Kubernetes, Kafka, React, Go, PostgreSQL and related platforms.

We’re looking for an integration engineer to help commission this software into the manufacturing line and business processes of the cell organization. The role is a chief problem solver, working to unblock users and ensure the software is effective for the cell program. You will gain a deep understanding of how our software platform works and how to make it do what end users need. This role combines technical problem-solving with data analysis, software configuration, and direct user support. It is a mix of project management, solutions engineering, and support. By taking on this role you will help mature both the software and our manufacturing process to a steady state while ensuring open communication with end users." What You'll Do

Coordinate and execute integrations of Cell Software across manufacturing lines and machines, collaborating with controls, manufacturing, process and quality engineers Act as single point of contact for end users, acknowledge and triage support requests, and handle line-critical escalations Develop understanding of what the software can and cannot do, and use this knowledge to solve problems and answer customer questions to improve production capacity and quality Own prioritization of issues by understanding relative impact Dive deep into investigations of potential system issues, using data to arrive at conclusions and guide necessary actions Document issues, drive solutions, and provide constructive feedback to the core development team to improve the product Work with integrity and follow procedures for handling sensitive data What You'll Bring
