Overview

Linus Health is a Boston-based digital health company transforming brain health worldwide. We combine cutting-edge neuroscience, clinical expertise, and AI to advance early detection and intervention for cognitive and brain disorders—empowering people to live longer, healthier lives. With 100+ team members and growing, we’re entering a phase of accelerated growth and looking for top talent to help shape our future. The Role

We’re looking for a Frontend Architect to define and evolve the technical vision for Linus Health’s web applications. You’ll lead the design of scalable, performant, and accessible React-based systems, shape our component libraries and design systems, and ensure that engineering excellence scales across teams. You’ll also champion AI-assisted development practices, both to accelerate engineering workflows and to bring clarity through advanced visualization in the UI. While this role is primarily focused on the web, experience with mobile (React Native or Swift) is a strong plus, as many of our products span both platforms. What You’ll Do

Set the frontend architecture direction for React-based apps—performance, modularity, security, and long-term scalability Lead a Team to re-imagine our web applications into a cohesive, flexible and performant application that is easy to develop in Design and maintain a reusable component library/design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and internationalization across apps Integrate AI-assisted visualization into user experiences, enabling clinicians and patients to understand and interact with complex health insights Establish best practices for testing (unit, integration, snapshot, e2e), CI/CD pipelines, code quality, and observability in frontend systems Mentor and empower engineers across multiple teams, raising the bar through reviews, workshops, and shared documentation Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data Science/Medical, and Security to translate requirements into elegant, maintainable solutions Promote responsible AI-assisted coding practices, ensuring speed gains are paired with validation, security, and reliability Drive frontend innovation, such as SSR/ISR strategies, advanced state management, and performance profiling What You’ll Bring

About You: 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant expertise in frontend architecture 5+ years building large-scale applications in React, including deep understanding of hooks, context, state management, and performance tuning Experience leading design system or component library initiatives at scale (Storybook, theming, accessibility, documentation) Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, and proven ability to integrate AI-powered visualizations into user-facing apps Proficiency in frontend performance optimization (bundle splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies, rendering patterns) Effective communication skills—able to drive consensus, document decisions (ADRs, RFCs), and present tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders Nice To Have’s

Experience with mobile development in React Native or iOS/Swift Exposure to data visualization libraries (D3, Victory, Recharts, or native iOS charting) Previous work in digital health or regulated environments (HIPAA, GDPR) Familiarity with backend-for-frontend (BFF) patterns Contributions to open-source projects or design systems How You Embody Our Values
