The DarkStar Group, a GRVTY Company, is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) in Chantilly, VA. This description provides an overview of the project, the company, and benefits.
The Project
The DarkStar Group's team provides tactical data engineering solutions. We embed Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and ETL Developers directly into intelligence analyst groups to be their go-to data wranglers. We develop new tools, code, and services to execute data engineering activities. Our engineers work to collect, process, and feed analytic tools, turning data into intelligence in response to immediate mission needs with direct impact on real-world situations. You will see your work used daily and have the opportunity to support a variety of Sponsor mission organizations and mission partner organizations. The work is high impact and fast-moving, with growing mission support. The environment is fast-paced, flexible, and open to innovation. The customer cares more about what you can do than years of experience, and work hours are typically flexible. The workspace is pleasant, with an excellent cafeteria.
Tech stack : Python (Pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, standard libraries, etc.), Python ML packages (NLP, Object Detection, etc.), Linux, AWS/C2S, Apache NiFi, Spark, pySpark, Hadoop, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Solr, Kibana, Neo4j, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Docker, Puppet, and more. This program operates in Chantilly, VA; McLean, VA; and various field offices in Northern VA. Remote work is not supported. A TS/SCI + Polygraph clearance is required (acceptable to this customer).
The Role
The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) supports the client and team in defining security requirements, advises on, executes, and oversees cybersecurity and information assurance (IA) programs, authority to operate (ATO), accreditation and authorization (A&A), User Activity Monitoring (UAM), system security plans, and related activities.
Lead for automated security testing efforts leveraging Sponsor's enterprise scanning tools
Responsible for creation and delivery of the Monthly Vulnerability Scans
Responsible for creation and delivery of the Monthly Privileged Users and Admin report
Lead for ensuring systems are secure by protecting data and ensuring need-to-know
Responsible for working with the Tech team on creating any necessary POAMs
Assist PM with the Contract Security Plan
Coordinate with PM and Sponsor's Information System Security Manager and INFOSEC Program Council as necessary
Authors and maintains the program's System Security Plan (SSP) for A&A
Provide required security education and plan to sponsor for the program
Authors and maintains the program's Automated Information Systems (AIS) Plan
Required Skills 4–7 years' experience with:
Application security standards and processes
Accreditation and Authorization (A&A), including documentation, POAMs, and remediation
Application and data security requirements for authorities to develop and operate systems (ATD, ATO) such as encryption, role-based security, information assurance, and monitoring/auditing/reporting
Coordination with engineering teams to implement security requirements
Agile / Scrum
