Location: Indianapolis, IN (Southside) We are currently recruiting a Pre-Certification Specialist to join us at OGI South. Position is Full-time, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Precertification Specialist

will be responsible for a variety of tasks regarding verifying and checking eligibility of benefits, obtaining authorization for patients, activating patient files, and providing support to patients and medical staff. Duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls (and retrieves messages via answering service). Routes calls appropriately, offering voicemail, paging, or redirection as needed.

Scanning patient documents into the EHR system appropriately.

Explain financial requirements to patients; collect and record transactions as required.

Obtaining precertifications from insurance payors for onsite ultrasounds, various testing, surgeries and procedures.

Perform registration functions for new and existing patients.

Check patient balances for next day appointments and document in patient charts accordingly.

Coordinate and screen outside referrals for insurance needs.

Additional internal administrative duties pertaining to eligibility, authorization, and insurance as assigned.

Schedule patient appointments per guidelines given, and finalize patient schedules for previous day.

Cross train to provide coverage for surgical scheduler and obtaining authorizations for outpatient cases.

Maintain confidentiality regarding all patients.

Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies through HIPAA compliance.

Other duties as assigned.
