Overview
Cloud Solution Architect – Cloud & AI Data Platform role at Microsoft. We are looking for a Cloud Solution Architect with deep knowledge in data platforms and analytics to support customers in building secure, scalable, and AI-ready solutions on Microsoft Azure. In this customer-facing role, you’ll guide organizations through their data modernization and AI journeys—leading architectural design sessions, proof-of-concept initiatives, and production deployments for mission-critical workloads. Your focus will be on ensuring performance, resiliency, and security across solutions that drive measurable business value. As a key member of the Cloud & AI Data Platform team, you’ll use established repeatable IP and execution frameworks to deliver high-quality outcomes and accelerate solution adoption. You’ll work with technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Cosmos DB, and Purview, helping unlock the full value of data and AI investments. Responsibilities
Operate according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards throughout all sales stages and activities; collaborate across Microsoft and customer/partner teams to achieve objectives and increase satisfaction. Identify, escalate, and mitigate blockers to accelerate solution deployment and value realization; develop business, technical, industry, and enterprise knowledge to support architecture and projects. Identify new opportunities for consumption, usage, and unified expansion; listen to customers/partners, advocate effective architectures/solutions, and map customer insights to business outcomes. Deliver solutions aligned with company methodologies and proven practices; guide customers toward well-architected, secure, resilient, and AI-enabled solutions that optimize cost and performance. Customer Centricity
Focus on customer/partner experience, analyzing goals and defining success criteria; address dissatisfaction and contribute to strategies that improve value realization and transformation. Translate customer problems into industry solutions aligned with Microsoft strategy; facilitate adoption across cross-solution areas; build relationships with technical decision makers and bridge to business decision makers. Represent the voice of the customer to engineering and product teams; identify patterns across customers/territories and contribute to insights that influence roadmaps and IP development. Partner Specialization
Identify market opportunities in solution areas and guide partners in developing offerings and solutions; support initial customer implementations and deliver technical enablement. Drive growth of solution utilization with partners by unblocking technical blockers in deals; provide pre-sales and proof-of-concept support. Technical Leadership
Demonstrate technical readiness and influence others to develop their own readiness; mentor and lead readiness activities within the team. Contribute to virtual teams and engage with internal and external audiences to raise Microsoft’s profile; support IP development and pattern recognition for scalable models. Identify gaps in delivery and communicate improvements to drive scalable solutions across customers. Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field and 2+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, or consulting. OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements

8+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, architecture, or related; or Master’s degree with relevant experience; 6+ years if using a bachelor’s degree; 4+ years in a customer-facing role; 4+ years on technical projects; technical certifications in Cloud platforms. Compensation
Cloud Solution Architecture: IC3 ranges vary by location; typical base pay across the U.S. is USD 85,100 – 169,800 per year (ranges differ by location, e.g., SF Bay Area / NYC). Cloud Solution Architecture: IC4 ranges vary by location; typical base pay across the U.S. is USD 106,400 – 203,600 per year (ranges differ by location). Other
