Overview

Summit Technical Solutions (STS) is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide system administration support for enterprise networks, email servers, enterprise network server virtualization, networked printer operations, backup operations, disk management, input/output control, tape library functions, system software modification, system status/performance monitoring, system performance tuning, and inter-system data transfer. Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator Senior duties include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior. Applies advanced technical principles, techniques, theories and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and theories. Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. System Administration support including: trouble ticket resolution support, installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, support of hardware, software, and communications node equipment in a networked environment, and associated administrative areas. Computer Operational Support including Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, E-mail, Fax and Print, Access Management, Backup and Restore, Tape Libraries, Database, User Training, Software Suite, and Application Support. Contribute to and maintain operations documentation, including configuration data, change requests, installation procedures, knowledge base articles, SOPs, engineering diagrams, and test plans. Support and monitor servers in a virtualized environment, including the development and maintenance of installation and configuration procedures, installation and maintenance of security patches, performing daily system monitoring, investigating and troubleshooting issues, and upgrading and configuring systems. Monitor daily operations of customer networks, including, enterprise networks, email servers, telecommunications networks/equipment. Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, including the transition and migration of enterprise systems. Identify negative IT issues and impacts (i.e., processes, procedures, aging IT elements, ineffectiveness, obsolete elements, and defectiveness). Identify, research, and resolve technical problems. Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems. Resolve hardware/software conflicts, install and configure servers/workstations, and peripherals. Responsible for installing, upgrading, and maintaining all associated operating systems, software on both classified and unclassified systems. Conducts system back-up operations, disk/storage management, and tape library support Configure/add new services as necessary; and perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource, optimization as required, plus configuring CPU, memory and disk partitions as required. Manage the design, maintenance, monitoring, development, and support of Windows servers and Virtual servers. Coordinate efforts with Network Administration and cybersecurity personnel. Familiarity with routing protocols, TCP/IP, security requirements, and network communications. Experience with network printer deployment, configuration and troubleshooting. Familiarity in inter-system communication and data transfer. Support system, program, and product development across program lifecycle. Qualifications

Expertise with Microsoft Office specifically proven ability to perform advanced formatting in Word as well as the ability to learn new computer applications. Excellent Interpersonal Skills. 4 - 8 Years experience Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Sciences or a related field. Certifications
