AnaVation LLC This position is hybrid (mostly remote, with up to two days per week on-site with our customer in Lorton, VA. Remote status is subject to change at the customer’s direction, but is expected to continue. There will also be several workshops throughout the year where engineers will collaborate on site for one to two weeks.) Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and integrate software features as a member of a geographically dispersed team, either independently or with limited supervision. Apply robust software engineering and database practices to address complex technical challenges, ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Collaborate with data architects and software developers to ensure the data model captures the use cases that the software systems are responsible for. Focus on mobile device forensic analysis including mobile device reverse engineering as part of a software research and development team. Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, with a preference in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline Minimum of six years of experience as a Software Developer Proficient with Python, Java, C, C++, JavaScript, and other programming languages Mobile app development or systems experience Expertise in source control management with Git Deep understanding of relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SQLite Mobile application decompiling Comfortable viewing, analyzing, and understanding raw binary data Excellent skills with developer documentation Excellent skills with collaborative coding and ability to adopt shared coding practices Excellent skills developing quality code using best practices such as unit testing Experience collaborating closely in Agile development teams and managing workloads through issue tracking software Experience using industry standard reverse engineering tools (IDA Pro, Ghidra, JEB, Hopper) Experience with project leadership to manage tasks and timelines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications
C, C++ programming language Rust programming language Knowledge of common mobile architectures and their instructions, including x86 and ARM OS-level expertise in Linux (or similar) Experience with GNU Debugger (GDB) Experience identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities (memory corruption, etc.) Software release management experience Experience with Atlassian suite and software project management Computer Network Operations (CNO) experience Benefits
