The Opportunity We’re looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer II to join our team (Preferably in Austin, TX but not mandatory). Come join a globally distributed team of talented Cloud Operations engineers working with Planview's flagship Portfolios product. Planview Portfolios is Planview’s Enterprise Portfolio and Work Management solution. It orchestrates all work and resources dynamically through integrated portfolios across projects, programs, people, products, technology, and capabilities, within a common user experience.
What You'll Do
Maintain customer environments, applying application and infrastructure updates
Triage and help remediate production infrastructure, and application issues when needed
Participate in on-call rotation - We have a 24x5 follow the sun team with only one weekend on call shift every 13 weeks
Collaborate with Development and DevOps teams to improve application robustness and software delivery into our production environments
Maintain reliable backup solutions and conduct regular restore drills
Apply cloud security best practices
What You'll Bring
Some experience on a major cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git) and command-line tools
Familiarity with common Linux/Windows commands and concepts
Hands on experience with monitoring and alerting tools / services (e.g. New Relic, Sumo Logic, CloudWatch)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Qualifications (preferred)
Basic knowledge of containerization and container orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
Basic knowledge of Cloud Platform Network infrastructure (VPCs, IAM, Load Balancers)
Exposure to Agile and Lean software development principles
Elementary knowledge of configuration management and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
