We’re looking for a
Grant Accountant
who thrives in a mission-driven environment and is passionate about ensuring financial integrity and compliance across a diverse portfolio of state and federal grants. If you’re detail-oriented, collaborative, and ready to make a difference, we’d love to meet you. What You’ll Do
Manage accounting and compliance for grants including WIOA, HUD, DHS, DEED, and city contracts. Prepare and submit timely invoices, reimbursement requests, and drawdowns. Maintain accurate schedules, reconciliations, and documentation aligned with GAAP and grant guidelines. Partner with program leaders to monitor budgets and guide on allowable costs. Support audits and monitoring visits—assemble documentation, respond to inquiries, and implement corrective actions. Record journal entries for revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and receivables. Assist with financial reports and grant billings for internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to process improvements that enhance grant accounting workflows. Stay current on federal and state regulations (e.g., 2 CFR Part 200, OMB Uniform Guidance). Support general accounting functions as needed. Qualifications
Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 5 years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience. At least 2 years of experience with federal and/or state grants. Experience supporting audits and monitoring processes. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Blackbaud Financial Edge, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills. Strong understanding of GAAP, grant compliance, and nonprofit/government grant accounting. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. This is a hybrid role based in Minneapolis. On-site presence is required for a set schedule weekly, for audits, monitoring visits, and team collaboration. Occasional evening or weekend work may be needed during audit cycles. Benefits We Offer
