Tenure Track Assistant Professor Experimental Optics for Gravitational Wave Detection — The Department of Physics at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 16, 2024. The targeted research area is precision interferometry and optical instrument science, generally with a focus on gravitational wave detector instrumentation. Responsibilities
Teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels; supervise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers; contribute to the department, the university, and the profession. Develop innovative projects, enhance the group\'s efforts, and attract external research funding. Collaborate in small and large groups; contribute to projects related to Cosmic Explorer, the Einstein Telescope, LISA, LIGO, Virgo, KAGRA, and similar precision optical experiments. Qualifications
Minimum: Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field. Preferred: Post-Doctoral experience. Application Process
