Guidewire Developer Job Summary: The Guidewire Developer should have hands-on experience across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter including UI, Configuration, Integration, Rating, and Underwriting Rules. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical depth, full Guidewire certification, and domain expertise in commercial trucking insurance. This individual will play a key role in designing and building scalable solutions that align with both technical standards and business goals.

Major Accountabilities:

Develop and configure Guidewire applications using GOSU across UI, product model, rules engine, and integrations.

Design and implement SOAP/REST-based integrations with third-party trucking insurance services (e.g., FMCSA, telematics, VIN lookup).

Configure complex rating algorithms and underwriting rules tailored for commercial trucking policies.

Implement Guidewire messaging, batch jobs, plug-ins, and APIs for internal and external system communication.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with BAs, QA, Architects, and business stakeholders.

Create and maintain technical design documentation, reusable assets, and code repositories.

Provide development support for UAT, deployments, and post-production fixes.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Guidewire development experience.

Proven experience in commercial auto/trucking insurance domain – filings, coverages, fleet risk, DOT/FMCSA compliance.

Proficiency in GOSU, Java, and Guidewire Studio across multiple modules.

Strong experience building integrations and configuring rating models.

Agile delivery experience; proficient with JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Postman, etc.

Guidewire PolicyCenter Configuration Specialist

Guidewire Integration Specialist (any core product)

Guidewire UI Developer Certification

Guidewire Rating Developer Certification

Guidewire Underwriting Rules Developer Certification

Guidewire BillingCenter Configuration Specialist

Guidewire ClaimCenter Configuration Specialist

Key Deliverables:

End-to-end functional Guidewire configuration (UI, Rating, Product Model, UW Rules)

Seamless API integrations with trucking-specific data sources and services

GOSU code for messaging, rules, batch jobs, and plug-in implementations

Technical design documents and development workbooks

Unit test cases and defect resolution reports

Deployment-ready code packages and release documentation

Post-deployment support and performance tuning

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Guidewire Cloud upgrades or deployments

Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Familiarity with digital portals, document generation, or claims workflow tools

Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, and cyber-risk in insurance applications

Special Considerations Physical Requirements:

Constant use of vision, hearing, and communication (oral and written/in-person and via telephone). Frequent concentration, standing, walking, handling, reaching, and grasping. Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 25 lbs.) Heavy use of computer and office equipment.

Travel/Hours of Service:

Frequent travel required. Periodic work outside of standard business hours or on weekends may be required.
