Head Coach, Men’s Volleyball, Club, PT • Limited-Term • Part-time 0-19 hours weekly Job Number: SA57924 • Non-Exempt • Anticipated Pay Range: $16.50 Chapman University is a non-profit private university. The Head Coach of Men’s Volleyball, Club is responsible for managing the daily operations of the club sport and the recruitment of student-athletes. Duties also include fundraising, calendaring facilities, maintaining budgets and overall teaching and supervision of athletes. Responsibilities

Teach, coach, practice, and condition student athletes; teach sport fundamentals and game strategies; foster an educational and developmentally enriching environment for student-athletes to thrive and grow. Recruit, motivate, and retain student athletes; work with administrators to determine roster size limits; collaborate with athletic training staff on health and safety needs of student athletes. Manage and communicate a yearlong calendar; develop daily practice plans and oversee schedules; provide safe and responsible travel to and from away competitions. Develop and manage an annual budget; oversee expenditures; manage and maintain program facility, including partnering with others in the department to share common facility spaces. Collaborate with university units to foster athletic, academic, emotional, physical, and social growth; work with financial aid, medical services, academic support, judicial affairs, psychological services, student-athlete services, international programs, and compliance; mandatory Campus Security Authority and Title IX mandatory reporters. This position will have campus security authority (CSA) related responsibilities under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, which is a federal law requiring disclosure of information about crimes on and around campus. Perform other duties as assigned. CPR & First Aid Certification. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in coaching the assigned sport at the collegiate or high school levels is required. Strong organizational and communication skills. Technical expertise in the assigned sport. Understanding that the academic commitment of athletes at Chapman University takes priority over other commitments, including participation in sports. CPR & First Aid Certification.
