Part-Time Fire Investigator

to join our growing team in

Baltimore, MD . The Fire Investigator is responsible for studying fire and explosion scenes, performing required studies to determine the cause and origin of fires and explosions, and conveying findings in written reports. If necessary, they will defend their opinions in a court of law. Benefits

Timely field visits to loss sites to conduct cause and origin investigations. Provide honest and unbiased analysis and consultation on various fires and explosions. Field studies and research on a daily basis. Travel within a 100-mile radius from the assigned office; farther travel may be required and occasional overnight travel may be needed. Interact with clients and handle sensitive and confidential information. Write and submit detailed and accurate reports on completed investigations in a timely manner per company guidelines. Communicate with National Fire Experts' customers to provide timelines and project updates. Be willing to provide expert testimony and/or depositions as needed. Be willing to work a flexible schedule during peak business demand. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications

Must have CFEI certification through NAFI, or CFI certification through IAAI (preferred). Must hold or be able to obtain a Private Investigator License in the applicable states within 60 days of employment (if applicable). Must be familiar with NFPA 921. Must meet all NFPA 1033 qualification requirements for fire investigators. Previous expert testimony or deposition experience is highly preferred but not required. Degree or some college coursework is preferred but not required. At least 2 years of hands-on experience performing fire origin and cause investigations on residential and/or commercial structures. Well organized with the ability to deliver fast and accurate turnaround times. Ability to handle multiple projects and work under high stress, especially during peak demand. Hands-on capability to climb ladders and roofs, crawl in tight spaces, etc. Will work on projects unless hazards are identified following safety protocols and JSAs. Meet all standards for pre-employment physical examination. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team-oriented and service-oriented. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Superior customer service skills. Always conduct business ethically and honestly. Experience with writing detailed investigation reports is highly preferred. Excellent overall computer skills; ability to work with minimal supervision. Willingness to travel and/or work a flexible schedule during peak demand. Willingness to work remotely from a home office. Employee-provided, high-speed internet access is required at the remote office. Physical Requirements

Frequently able to stand for prolonged periods. Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Climb onto roofs, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc. Balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl as needed.
