Overview
Brown and Caldwell is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team. This full-time position will contribute to project delivery and client service teams in winning and executing innovative planning, evaluation, design, permitting and providing construction support services for a variety of Drinking Water, Wastewater and / or Water Resources projects. Example projects include studies, design and construction of wastewater treatment plants, drinking water plants designs, biosolids and residuals processing and disposal, pumping stations, pipeline, stormwater management, MS4 Compliance and integrated water resources projects for municipal clients. We are looking for a Civil / Mechanical / Environmental Engineer with a PE license who will partner with leaders in our Northeast Area to advance our growth strategy while providing project oversight and engineering mentorship as it pertains to water, wastewater, stormwater conveyance or related water engineering work. Candidates must live in New England but may work remotely. Travel is required (~25% of the time) to client sites within the New England region. Responsibilities
Detailed project leadership: Set direction, define objectives, decision-making processes, schedules, budgets and success factors. Establish clear objectives, decision processes, schedules and client-focused success factors to guide the project. Communication and team coordination: Establish effective communication methods for team standups, technical/design decisions, and client interactions. Share how communications will be delivered, including standups, technical decisions, client changes, etc. Team motivation and development: Empower team members, resolve conflicts, provide feedback and celebrate success. Build trust and create a safe environment that fosters ideas and creativity. Develop team members through continuous learning and skill development. Scope, schedule, budget, quality, change and risk management: Collaborate to prepare detailed scopes of work; maintain schedules; develop and monitor budgets; create quality management plans; manage changes with risk mitigation; identify and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle. Delivery of project and business performance metrics: Support achievement of goals related to scope, schedule, budget and quality; monitor profitability via earned value analysis, forecasting and timely invoicing. Client service and sales/marketing support: Build strong client relationships, assess client satisfaction and communicate critical success factors to ensure project success. Required Qualifications
BS degree in Civil, Environmental, related Engineering or Science field. Experience with planning, evaluating, designing, permitting or providing construction support services for water-related engineering projects (e.g., advanced water/wastewater treatment plants, biosolids, pumping stations, pipeline conveyance, integrated water resources projects for municipal clients). 12+ years of experience in project management with development and monitoring of simple project schedules and budgets. Strong project management and leadership skills demonstrated through prior experience. Proficiency in standard computer programs (MS Word, MS Teams, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficiency in schedule development and management using MS Project. Ability to travel regionally throughout New England approximately 25% of the time. Preferred Qualifications
MS and/or MBA degree in Civil, Environmental, related Engineering or Science field. PE or equivalent licensing or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI. Previous supervisory or mentoring experience is a plus. Salary : The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
