New UCSC On-Campus Early Education Center Opening Soon! Our newly constructed facility built on campus with classrooms for infants through school-age. Each program has its own play yard, low teacher-to-child ratios, dedicated prep areas for staff, and loft spaces in every classroom. Multiple Career Positions Available. Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Early Education Teacher (Infant/Toddler/Twos) is responsible for general supervision and planning of developmentally appropriate program curriculum for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children; ages 3 months to 8 years. May mentor Student Assistant Teachers. Requires basic word-processing and computer skills for assessments, notices, and curriculum materials. Must have a valid Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher, a current negative TB test, and pass a pre-employment background check. Appointment Information

70% - Child Development and Education Supervise and ensure safety of all children; comply with licensing and regulations; maintain a clean environment inside and in the yard. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with licensing, Title 5, and NAEYC accreditation; document assessments and maintain a safe, organized center; supervise field trips; promote children’s self-control, self-esteem, self-help, and positive relationships. 15% - Collaborative Relationships with Families Maintain regular communication with families; assist with transitions; encourage family involvement; attend quarterly family meetings. 15% - Teamwork and Professional Growth Attend staff meetings; contribute as a team; participate in professional development to renew the California Child Development Permit. Assist in hiring, supervising and evaluating student teaching assistants; may conduct training seminars. Assist Lead Teacher in planning and conducting quarterly parent meetings and events. Required Qualifications

Infant/Toddler/Two's: knowledge of developmental needs in social, emotional, cognitive, physical areas. Preschool: knowledge of developmental needs in social, emotional, cognitive, physical areas. School-Age: knowledge of developmental needs in social, emotional, cognitive, physical areas. Knowledge of current quality practices in early childhood education. Ability to create and implement a developmentally appropriate program; curriculum, assessment, environment. Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups; strong communication skills. Experience directing adults in childcare settings; ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in word processing and computer skills for assessments, memos, newsletters, and portfolios. Ability to keep children physically safe in a nurturing environment. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in licensed infant/toddler/preschool/school-age setting (3 months - 8 years). Special Conditions of Employment

Pre-employment criminal history background check; background disclosure process; TB test and health screening within 7 days of hire. Currently hold or be eligible to obtain a California Child Development Permit within 30 days. CPR/First Aid certification; ability to lift up to 25 lbs; compliance with health and safety requirements; UC compliance training; vaccination policy compliance.
