Colorado Mountain College is seeking full-time nursing faculty to join our Steamboat Springs campus team. The position supports teaching and learning with a team of 13 full-time and over 15 part-time faculty across three campuses, focused on educating the next generation of skilled, caring nurses. This full-time faculty position will begin in January 2026 with a 30-credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually. Nursing faculty work under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing, who is also the Chief Nursing Officer. Major areas of instruction include classroom instruction, simulation lab and clinical teaching. The position may include night, weekend, and teaching at alternate locations, along with possible interactive video teaching and other use of technology in teaching. Teaching responsibilities include teaching course load as assigned; evaluating courses and assessing student learning; meeting established outcomes; complying with guidelines and policies; maintaining office hours; developing rapport with students; advising; orientation and registration activities. Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activities and service activities such as campus and college committees, peer mentoring, assessment activities, program review, student organizations, recruiting and retention. Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Ideal qualifications include: A Master’s degree in Nursing 2000 verifiable related occupational experience hours within the past 5 years A minimum of one year demonstrated teaching/training experience (or equivalent in part-time role) An active, unencumbered Colorado RN license or the ability to obtain a Colorado Nursing license is required. A Doctoral degree or current enrollment in a Doctoral program is preferred. Experience with adult medical-surgical populations is required; experience with pediatric patients and families is preferred. Salary range: $102,902.51 - $120,321.19 annual, dependent on education and experience. Minimum Qualifications

Essential Duties The following responsibilities align job duties with evaluation and promotion procedures. 1.A.1 Teaching Responsibilities CMC faculty members are expected to meet the educational needs of our communities by fulfilling the following responsibilities: Teach course-load as assigned Evaluate courses and student learning Meet course, program, and institutional learning outcomes Comply with department guidelines and college policies Maintain at least five office hours per week to meet with students Develop rapport with students in a professional manner Assist with academic advising of students Participate in orientation and registration activities 1.A.2 Scholarly and Creative Activities CMC faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and learning. Examples include: Continuing certification in discipline (if applicable) Graduate coursework Continuing education Sharing expertise within discipline (grant writing, publishing, presentations, conferences) Attending trainings and in-services Conducting research Developing/advancing instructional technology Other activities approved by faculty member and Assistant Dean of Instruction 1.A.3 Service Activities Faculty are expected to participate in a variety of service activities, including: Serve on campus and college-wide committees Represent discipline on state, national, and international levels Participate in projects with administrative approval Mentor peers Modify, develop, and maintain curriculum Assist with assessment activities and program review Advise student organizations Participate in recruiting/retention activities Attend and participate in meetings Develop promotion portfolio Participate in community service activities (as appropriate) 1.A.4 Organizational Relationships CMC recognizes that student learning is enhanced by collaboration among faculty, staff, and administration. Regarding reporting structure, faculty members: Are under the general direction of the site school discipline dean or designee Cooperate with other program faculty Work with Student Services personnel in advisement of students Work with Academic, Student, and Administrative Services personnel Supervision of the Position This position reports to the Dean of the School of the discipline. It may supervise staff positions and/or student employees. Special Conditions of Employment Background check and motor vehicle records check may be required where applicable. Travel and evening/weekend hours may be required. Adherence to safety and compliance policies is expected. Working Conditions This position requires varied physical activity and constant reading/writing. Work is performed at a computer and standard office equipment, with occasional driving.
