Advisor Network Engineer

Job Description Seeking an experienced Advisor Network Engineer to serve as technical lead and subject matter expert for our Enterprise Network Team, specializing in Cisco wireless platforms, Catalyst Center, ISE, and Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM solutions. Provides the planning, design, acquisition and implementation of the company's network and voice services. Evaluates business requirements to develop and implement solutions. Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons. Performs traffic study analysis to determine best configuration of systems.
Manages infrastructure related to networks and VoIP systems including related hardware and software to ensure availability, recoverability, performance, integrity and supportability through production support and maintenance of existing network and development and implementation of network enhancements. Key Responsibilities: Lead enterprise-wide Cisco Wi-Fi 6/6E design, deployment, and modernization initiatives Architect high-density wireless solutions for diverse environments (offices, generation facilities, and outdoor environments) Oversee comprehensive wireless site surveys across multiple facilities, including office buildings, generation sites, service centers, and outdoor environments Manage vendor relationships with specialized wireless survey contractors Design wireless networks supporting 1000+ concurrent users with advanced QoS Implement advanced security protocols and location services using Cisco DNA Spaces Manage Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and cloud-based solutions Experience implementing and managing a network security solution using Security Group Tag (SGT) for access control in both a wired and wireless infrastructure Automate wireless and wired network deployments with Cisco Catalyst Center Administers, monitors, troubleshoots, configures, enhances and provides advanced customer support for the existing network. Design and implement Cisco ACI solutions with spine-leaf architecture Manage Cisco Nexus switching platforms and software-defined networking Develop automation workflows using APIs, Python, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Implement zero-touch provisioning Minimum Qualifications Two (2) year degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education, work experience or relevant military experience, and at least six (6) years of experience in related field. Six (6) years of directly related experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and software), network designing, planning and implementing WLANs, LANs, WANs, and VoIP using latest technology. Thorough knowledge and expertise of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, concepts, practices and procedures. Strong customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams and with personnel of varying and differing skills, backgrounds and disciplines in a fast-paced environment. Advanced knowledge of WAN/LAN/VoIP design/configuration/support, network protocols and router/switch administration. Advanced knowledge and experience with IT infrastructure, MPLS, data, voice, Telco, concepts, practices and procedures. Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, routers, switches, domains, DNS, DHCP and subnets. Advanced knowledge with Cisco IOS commands, upgrades, and is proficient with specific network routing and bridging protocols (OSPF, BGP, Multicast, QOS, Vlans, VoIP and IPSEC VPN). Desired Qualifications Undergraduate degree. 10+ years enterprise networking experience 6+ years hands-on Cisco Wi-Fi 6/6E implementations 4+ years hands-on Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM implementation and management 3+ years Cisco ISE implementation, configuration, and policy management 3+ years data center technologies (ACI, Nexus) and network automation 2+ years Cisco SD-WAN experience Expert-level RF knowledge and large-scale wireless deployments (500+ APs) CCNP / CCIE / CWNE / CWNA or equivalent experience Expert knowledge level in Infoblox Core DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) Puget Sound Energy is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
