Overview
Advisor, IT Product Management - SAP SCM role at Mercedes-Benz Vans USA. The incumbent is responsible for designing SAP solutions to business needs in the SAP SD/MM area, providing functional support and business analysis, delivering projects to enhance the current state, and maintaining production support for business process enhancements and interfaces to/from SAP modules/applications. Will work with functional and technical architects, business systems analysts and developers to design and implement flexible, scalable, and reusable solutions. Familiarity with IDoc interfaces and testing in multi-client/multi-SAP environments is required.
Responsibilities
Gather and document business requirements, formulate use cases, participate in solution design, and contribute to project communications, training materials, and business procedures/documentation. Communicate with business users to convert requirements into Functional Specification documents.
Provide technical expertise in defining development requirements, provide technical user training and support for solution development across SAP modules.
Analyze functional and technical needs, identify gaps, and evaluate the impact of configuration or process changes across SD and other SAP modules.
Provide functional expertise in defining business requirements, integration testing, user training and support for SAP Systems in SD and MM.
Provide support and guidance to the business on continuous improvement, interfaces, and reporting; integrate SAP solutions with internal systems (e.g., Central MM Primus, global financial system CoFiCo, warehouse management EWM, forecast/planning system SPP).
Responsible for implementing large project initiatives (e.g., Primus Direct, Global Planning, FSL, system upgrades like Paragon) and provide background knowledge to business, central teams, ensuring industry best practices, compliance, efficiencies and accuracy for project implementation.
Qualifications
Must have 10+ years of experience as a functional analyst supporting Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, with strong understanding of Financials and ability to resolve out-of-balance issues between Logistics and Financial systems.
Functional Expertise: Proficient SAP SD knowledge with SAP SD/MM customizations, master data, pricing, OTC processes, Procure to Pay processes, SAP reports; SAP ALE/EDI (IDOC) expertise; strong SD knowledge (Shipping, Billing, Pricing, invoicing, sales orders, returns, credit management).
Ability to work independently with all levels of the organization; strong communication skills; proficient in functional/technical design, testing and troubleshooting.
Project Management Skills: ability to plan and develop small projects from concept to implementation; ability to design flexible/global solutions and guide development teams.
Other Skills: customer communication, organizational/presentation skills, multitasking, finance and accounting knowledge, MBUSA SAP modules SD/MM, ABAP basics, familiarity with SAP notes and service marketplace; comprehensive MBUSA policies/procedures and interdepartmental relationships.
Knowledge of MBUSA and Mercedes-Benz AG parts logistics processes.
Education Bachelor’s Degree (accredited school) or equivalent work experience with emphasis in Business Management, Computer/Information Science, Information Technology, MIS, Logistics (SD & MM), Warehouse Management Knowledge.
