Revenue Cycle Client Management Consultant - (Museum District)

Houston Methodist is hiring a Revenue Cycle Client Management Consultant to lead revenue cycle initiatives within assigned clinics. This role serves as the internal consultant for revenue cycle management, building collaborative relationships, coordinating projects, driving operational performance related to revenue, and overseeing processes impacting cash collections. Responsibilities include analyzing and communicating revenue cycle performance, partnering with leadership to develop action plans for underperforming metrics, ensuring registration and financial tools are used effectively, and maintaining controls to monitor performance and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
People Essential Functions
Serve as the primary knowledge source for the department's revenue cycle performance.
Lead committees and task forces to support revenue cycle initiatives for assigned departments, planning, directing, and delegating tasks with deadlines.
Bridge communication between the department, the Physician Organization's Centralized Business Office (PO CBO), and the Single Billing Office (SBO).
Service Essential Functions
Perform root cause analysis, identify trends, prioritize performance-improvement initiatives (e.g., coding, claim submission, insurance and self-pay collections, refunds and write-offs), and work with training to address deficiencies and improve workflows.
Monitor revenue cycle performance in alignment with compliance policies and serve as the department leadership's primary resource for related questions or concerns.
Quality/Safety Essential Functions
Coordinate with PO CBO and SBO management to understand trends affecting revenue cycle performance.
Track ongoing performance of revenue cycle metrics to meet department, PO CBO, and SBO needs and goals.
Lead monthly meetings with department administrators and physicians to review metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities (e.g., staff training, physician coordination, policy/process revisions).
Develop goals linking department and revenue cycle initiatives with the organization’s strategy.
Finance Essential Functions
Prepare timely monthly financial status reports for each physician's practice and review with department leadership, faculty, and staff at monthly revenue cycle meetings.
Coordinate with the assigned financial analyst to obtain accurate month-end financial reports.
Growth/Innovation Essential Functions
Develop, coordinate, and monitor implementation plans.
Act as a lead consultant/educator on performance-improvement requirements in operations and methodologies to revenue cycle teams, medical staff, other patient care, physician and hospital departments.
Identify and pursue new technologies that help identify and guide improvement opportunities aligned with PO CBO success.

Education
Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare
Work Experience
Five years of experience in medical billing and insurance collections
