Overview
Senior Civil Land Development Engineer in Alexandria, Virginia. AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Civil Land Development Engineer. Our civil engineers handle grading, site plans, roads, utility design and planning, and stormwater. Projects include local, state and federal work, with design-bid-build and design-build approaches. Opportunities may include federal projects in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East, and collaboration with multiple civil engineering groups across AtkinsRéalis, including aviation, coastal, water resources, environmental and more. Responsibilities
Designs and develops plans and drawings, including preliminary layout and/or final drawings. Organizes and conducts engineering investigations and planning work with a well-defined scope; prepares straightforward reports under supervision. Provides engineering services during construction by reviewing shop drawings, preparing records and progress reports, observing construction procedures, and evaluating results from quality control testing. Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory specifications. Contributes to the development of plans, specifications, permit applications, and writes miscellaneous reports. Prepares preliminary man-hour, cost, and material quantity estimates. Participates in quality control checks, maintains quality standards, and reviews designs and drawings performed by others. Performs field observations of construction where appropriate. May assist in project management as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering 10-14 years of experience in Land Development Technical writing, computer and communications skills AutoCAD skills Experience using hydrology modeling software (HydraFlow, XPSWMM, ICPR, etc.) Professional Engineer (PE) license required What We Offer

Expected compensation range is between $89,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on skills, experience and location.
