Daikin Applied is seeking a

Controls Technician I . In this role, you will be responsible for installation, programming, and service of commercial building digital control systems. Responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The Building Automation Systems (BAS) you will be installing and servicing include Daikin branded controls or third-party controls systems. Location: Bowie, MD / Washington DC What You Will Do

Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner Interact and train customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call and explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures What’s In It For You

High School Diploma or GED Technical training and 0-2 years of equivalent education/experience Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record Rotational Emergency Call Support as required Required license(s) or training card as required by local law Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position Preferred Qualifications

Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools Experience with engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet basics Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification Experience with integration protocols such as BACnet MSTP/IP, LON, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet O/IP, MQTT, or SQL Strong computer skills, including networking fundamentals OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (training provided during onboarding) Current first aid / CPR card Benefits
