Managing Engineer - Thermal Sciences (Ph.D.)
Exponent is seeking a Managing Engineer for our Thermal Sciences Practice in Denver, CO. This position will involve applying fundamental engineering and scientific techniques to real-world problems in failure analysis, risk mitigation, and product development. The successful candidate will provide leadership to consolidate and enhance Exponent’s offerings in Energy Transition and build relevant client relationships. Responsibilities will include managing projects from initiation to completion, communicating project updates to other team members, clients, and administrative staff, and ensuring that Exponent meets its deadlines and produces exceptional work products. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Aero-Astro, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, Nuclear, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field, with a practical and theoretical understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustion. The candidate should have 6+ years of post-graduate experience, outstanding ability to apply fundamental engineering concepts to new problems, and hands-on experience in designing and executing experimental programs. Provide leadership to consolidate and enhance Exponent’s offerings in Energy Transition and build relevant client relationships Managing projects from initiation to completion Communicating project updates to other team members, clients, and administrative staff Ensuring that Exponent meets its deadlines and produces exceptional work products Developing and managing client relationships Project and cost management on casework Analyzing and distilling complex data Performing laboratory experiments and analytical or computational modeling Reviewing and understanding experiments and simulations performed by clients Researching and parsing data from published literature Conducting risk assessments Preparing written reports, proposals, and presentations Managing projects and maintaining efficiency under deadlines Exponent offers a competitive base salary range of $160,000.00 - $205,000.00 per year, depending on experience and capabilities.
