The Opportunity
Williams International is looking for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer. The individual will lead Defect / Scrap reduction projects and actively support the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Additionally, the Senior Quality Engineer will:
Track First Pass Yield and Scrap metrics for the manufacturing teams and drive action priorities accordingly
Utilize statistical tools to evaluate performance of manufacturing processes and products
Lead the manufacturing teams in root cause analysis and the verification / implementation of corrective actions for top issues
Work with cells to complete the elements of the PPAP program, including PFMEA, Control Plans, Gage R&R, Initial Process Studies and First Article Inspections.
Measure success of PPAP at its various stages and drive changes to where shortcomings are occurring
Ensure quality of the manufacturing cell's PPAP data package
Provide training / coaching to manufacturing teams focusing on continuous improvement, problem solving tools, verification methods, proper containment techniques
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Engineering or other related field
Work involves practical job knowledge obtained in a manufacturing environment and skills gained with 5-10 years of Manufacturing Quality Engineering
Must have strong knowledge of the PPAP process with focus on the tool sets utilized by automotive industry
Proficient in multiple root cause analysis tools
Must have a strong knowledge of FMEAs and the ability to facilitate teams in the creation of FMEAs
Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, VISIO)
Candidate must have evidence of strong verbal and written communication skills
U. S. citizenship is required
Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
