Overview
Quality Engineer II role at Regal Rexnord. Support Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering and Purchasing Departments in quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and inspection processes at Regal Rexnord-PSI Bearings and with suppliers. Responsibilities
Support Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering and Purchasing Departments in quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing and inspection processes both internally and at supplier locations. Apply AS9100 Rev D, ISO 10012 (ANSI/NCSL Z540.3) and NADCAP requirements in a cost-effective manner. Collect, compile and analyze data using Six Sigma methods to identify root causes and determine corrective (preventive) actions to prevent recurrence. Participate in projects aimed at reducing PPM (scrap) and improving on-time delivery (OTD) internally and with suppliers (machining and special processing). Understand dimensional inspection measurement systems and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) concepts for complex products. Determine dispositions for nonconforming product and function as quality representative at Preliminary Review (PR) and MRB levels. Promote and foster a Continuous Improvement culture with internal teams and suppliers. Perform internal, supplier and customer corrective actions; participate in internal QMS and customer audits. Communicate effectively, with strong written and verbal skills; navigate customer portals and coordinate with customers and suppliers to resolve process gaps. General understanding of metallurgy and subcontracted special processes (NDT, heat treating, shot peening, plating and surface treatments); understanding of First Article Inspections (AS9102). Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Minitab. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum three years of Quality Engineering experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) and ability to apply methods in a manufacturing environment. Ability to determine appropriate dispositions for nonconforming product; function as quality representative at PR and MRB levels. Strong data analysis skills for identifying key projects to reduce nonconforming material. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with customers and suppliers to resolve process gaps.
