Boston Children's Hospital . ***Evening and Overnight shifts available*** Responsibilities
Receiving, sorting, cleaning, and decontaminating soiled reusable instruments, equipment, and materials following manufacturer’s instructions. Manually recording items/materials received in department logs. Loading, operating, and emptying cleaning and decontamination equipment such as automatic washers, endoscope reprocessors, cart washers, and pasteurizers. Inspecting, preparing, and sterilizing surgical instruments and other materials. Assembling trays and packets of instruments and medical supplies for surgical procedures according to standardized content lists and manufacturers’ guidelines. Loading and operating sterilizers, programming settings, and monitoring temperature and other critical readings during run cycles. Assuming leadership responsibilities in the absence of or alongside the CPD Manager. Planning, organizing, and overseeing daily operations. Monitoring workflow, prioritizing work assignments, and responding to customer requests. Managing the department work environment, ensuring safety, prioritizing work production, assessing, planning, and implementing shift activities. Collaborating with staff and other departments, ensuring documentation accuracy, and troubleshooting issues. Qualifications
CRCST and CER certification (or must obtain CER within one year of hire). High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of three years experience in Sterile Processing/Central Processing. Previous experience with Endoscopes. Strong knowledge of instrumentation and power surgical instruments. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to department needs. We are offering a one-time $7,500 sign-on bonus for full-time new hires. Benefits
