Principal Process Integration Engineer, GaN MMICs
MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Center, Telecommunication and Industrial and Defense applications. Headquartered in Lowell, Massachusetts, MACOM has design centers and sales offices throughout North America, Europe and Asia. MACOM has more than 75 years of application expertise with multiple design centers, Si, GaAs and InP fabrication, manufacturing, assembly and test, and operational facilities throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. This is an individual contributor position on a team collectively responsible for managing all aspects of GaN MMIC wafer fabrication at MACOM’s Lowell semiconductor fab. Specific responsibilities include contributing to new technology development, ramping nascent technologies to full-rate production, and sustaining and improving mature technologies supporting existing products. Regular tasks include directing process experiments to optimize performance or reliability, participating in cross-departmental NPI reviews, monitoring in-line data of active lots, and identifying and resolving excursions impacting yield. This person will act as a technical expert and point of contact for the fabrication of GaN MMICs throughout the company, fielding inquiries and supporting colleagues to deliver market-leading GaN MMIC products to end customers. Qualifications Must be a US citizen or permanent resident M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Engineering Physics, or similar degree 10+ years of professional experience in a semiconductor fab, or equivalent years of academic and professional experience Broad knowledge of compound semiconductor processing, preferably with direct process engineering experience in multiple functional areas (e.g. photolithography, etch, etc.) Familiarity and understanding of common materials characterization techniques Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics and electrical characterization Experience with DC and RF electrical test techniques and data outputs, with the ability to lead the design of test structures and plans Proficiency in querying and analyzing large datasets, including the use of statistical software packages like JMP or Minitab Experience employing quality tools such as Design of Experiments and structured problem-solving techniques Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to effectively communicate with colleagues across roles, seniority levels, and backgrounds Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and lead several concurrent projects Willingness to mentor junior engineers in technical understanding, problem-solving, and communication/presentation skills EEO:
