Job Description The NVH Project Performance Engineer is responsible for Noise, Vibration, & Harshness (NVH) performance including Road Noise, Body Structure, Isolation and Ride Comfort. Responsibilities include establishing NVH enablers to meet program targets, scheduling and coordinating benchmarking, testing and target setting, monitoring vehicle performance, reporting status in management forums and program gates, ensuring DVP completion, and performing timely root-cause analysis and resolution of technical issues.
Responsibilities
Noise, Vibration, & Harshness performance management for Road Noise, Body Structure, Isolation and Ride Comfort
Establish NVH enablers to meet program targets
Schedule and coordinate NVH benchmarking, standardized testing and target setting
Monitor vehicle performance and escalate NVH concerns as necessary
Report status in regular management forums (e.g., VIT, Umbrella) and at each program gate
Ensure vehicle design verification plan (DVP) is completed accurately and on time
Perform timely root-cause analysis and resolution of technical issues
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or ABET equivalent
Chassis/Body Structure/Mounts design experience and/or ride comfort tuning experience
1 year of NVH engineering experience
Proven record of solving technical problems
Demonstrated leadership ability
Organized, motivated, and proficient with engineering practices; able to direct mechanics, technicians, test and simulation engineers
Experience with benchmarking, standardized testing and target setting
Ability to convey complex issues and data clearly to technical experts
Familiarity with standard vehicle development program timing and NVH deliverables
Proficiency with NVH analysis software (e.g., LMS, Head Acoustics, B&K)
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Engineering Degree
Design for Six Sigma certification
Vehicle dynamics experience
4-post shaker knowledge or experience
Multi-Body Simulation / Adams modeling experience
