Overview

Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant – Trauma Surgery at UMass Memorial Health. This full-time, night-shift position offers a 12-hour schedule with rotation of weekends and holidays in our Level 1 Trauma Service. Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care for trauma patients in collaboration with the trauma surgery team. Perform diagnostic evaluations, surgical assistance, and trauma care management. Independently manage trauma cases in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Coordinate post-trauma follow-up care in partnership with a multidisciplinary team. Document patient progress and outcomes to support quality of care. Participate in department initiatives, including call coverage, weekend rotation, and scheduling. Contribute to trauma education for colleagues and learners. Maintain required competencies as directed by the division. Requirements

Meet American College of Surgeons standards for APPs on a Level 1 trauma service. Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP or PA program, with board certification. Massachusetts medical license (or eligibility). ATLS certification (required within one year of hire). ACLS and BLS certifications. Preferred Qualifications

1–3 years of clinical experience preferred. Surgical and trauma experience required. Strong ability to work independently in high-acuity, high-stress situations. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Benefits Highlights
