Overview
Orthopedic Tech - Per Diem - Torrey Pines Join to apply for the Orthopedic Tech - Per Diem - Torrey Pines role at Scripps Health. This is a per diem/casual position generally working 8-hr day shifts on weekdays with possible overtime. Shift start times vary between 7am-8:30am. Training will ideally be full time for ~4 weeks. Located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines in La Jolla but may travel to other sites as needed. Performs and assists with patient assessments and technical skills to assess patient status, including procedures as appropriate. Evaluates patients and documents patient interaction. Practices infection control and contributes to the team to ensure quality patient care. Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills
General working knowledge of casting and splint application and removal. Knowledge of universal precautions. Knowledge of sterile field maintenance and instrument sterility. Technical competency in casting skills, suture removal as measured by OTC; basic wound dressing application. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good English language skills; ability to speak in person and on the telephone; read and follow instructions in English. Patient concern and sensitivity. High school diploma or equivalent. Required Certification/Registration
Current OTC certification required. Current BLS required through the American Heart Association. Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification
Prefer one or more years of experience in an orthopedic office or related ortho field. Ortho tech experience. Assisting in procedures. Stile procedures. Position Pay Range: $30.58-$44.41/hour Seniority level
