is actively looking for a Product Engineer.

Responsibilities

Project management in development, design, and testing of assigned valves, hydrants, and components under the direction of senior level engineering and production staff.

Apply engineering principles, methods, and best practices in the design process.

Manage self well and work effectively under pressure.

Proactively exhibit and promote The McWane Way Principles.

Ensure personal safety and the safety of team members; assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Wear appropriate PPE as required and use proper lifting and ergonomic techniques.

Work collaboratively in a team environment and with a spirit of cooperation.

Manage assigned engineering design projects from concept to prototype to production.

Create detailed CAD/engineering documentation for projects.

Collaborate with Engineering Manager and Sales Management to address customer-requested designs.

Prepare product objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to manufacturing.

Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and coordinate implementation with relevant parties.

Produce assembly instructions for new product designs.

Design new valves, hydrants, components, and other products as directed.

Fabricate, assemble, and test prototypes to verify design criteria; conduct engineering-related tests as directed.

Record test procedures and results, and provide recommendations for changes in product or test methods.

Collaborate with Valve and Hydrants engineering teams on group projects.

Participate in overall product strategy, research, and development of new and emerging products.

Complete special projects by clarifying objectives, setting timelines, conducting research, organizing information, and fulfilling transactions.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual MUST BE detail oriented, thorough, and precise in the completion of tasks assigned and project-related paperwork. The individual MUST BE a self-starter with the ability to take an assigned project with limited input and direction and achieve the desired goal from concept to production. Education and/or Experience

Master's degree in engineering, applied engineering, or related technical field or bachelor's degree in engineering, applied engineering, or related technical field required with minimum of three years of experience in industrial manufacturing is preferred.

Demonstrated project management experience.

CAD expertise required including 3-dimensional modeling using software such as SolidWorks, ProE, or AutoCAD Inventor.

Must be able to read, understand, and interpret mechanical drawings including dimensions and tolerances.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required. Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Project preferred.

Experience with Finite Element Analysis is preferred.

Metalworking manufacturing experience is preferred.

Language Skills Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Should be able to speak effectively to customers, management and/or other fellow employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
