After Brightline Florida completed the first passenger rail system connecting Miami and Orlando, Brightline West was formed to connect Las Vegas and Southern California through the nation’s first true high-speed, electric passenger rail system. Reaching speeds of more than 186 miles per hour, this 218-mile high-speed rail service will take passengers from Las Vegas to the Greater Los Angeles area twice as fast as the normal drive time.

This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing all Civil construction of highways, railways, systems facilities and related work to a multi-billion high-speed rail system connecting Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Job Function
To provide professional management for all technical aspects of the highway construction, railway and facilities civil construction. The role is to manage the civil project management program’s interface with prime contractors and Caltrans Local Agency Resident Engineer’s. Ensure contract compliance and adherence to the Safety and Quality Assurance Programs. Development and maintenance of the construction project management plan Manage prime contracts Managing compliance of the highway, track and systems with Caltrans and other regulatory agencies Managing compliance with all reporting requirements of Caltrans and FRA Manage construction acceptance, risks and schedule Provide technical direction, oversight and guidance of external technical advisers and design Set and maintain a high level of professional standards Aid in the construction management team build-out and hiring processes Prepare reports for submission to the VP Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure Manage meetings with Caltrans and Contractor Other duties as may be assigned Qualifications
BS in engineering or an associated discipline or equivalent. 12 to 20 years’ experience in heavy civil, rail or a similar field. Successful high-speed rail delivery is a plus Experience as a CALTRANS or other DOT Resident Engineer preferred Oversight of major civil and system contracts in a highway environment Successful track-record of on-time, on-budget project delivery. Excellent inter-personal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined management team.
