Electro-Optical (EO) Engineers at nLIGHT DEFENSE are key contributors. They problem-solve, align systems during integration, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams using GitLab planning tools. The role involves learning diverse tools and techniques, from opto-mechanical design to software integration and data analysis. This career path offers progression from disciplined bench procedures to leading integrated product teams and delivering EO systems to customers. Our work is challenging but rewarding and engaging. Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, integrate, and test High Energy Laser (HEL) Weapon Systems and/or HEL Beam Control Systems (BCS). Hardware integration and testing, data processing, and documentation of performance and tests. Develop test setups to evaluate performance parameters. Execute complex integration activities with team support. Support field testing activities. Security Clearance

Expertise in laser and electro-optical systems, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. Desired Additional Skills
Experience with high power laser systems and auto-alignment algorithms. Proficiency in LabVIEW, MATLAB, Firmware, C/C++/C# for real-time control. Experience with acquisition, pointing, tracking, and Adaptive Optical Systems. Knowledge of optical coating requirements and fiber optic management. Benefits
