Application deadline: Dec 12, 2025 The AWS Region Services team is hiring a cleared Systems Development Engineer to support cloud security services for the U.S. Intelligence Community. Our team is tasked with protecting the AWS infrastructure that is used by our National Security customers. Join our mission to help lead, deploy, and support the security systems that raise the security bar for the U.S. Government. The Faraday team supports customer-facing security services in Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions, including GuardDuty, Security Hub, Inspector, Security Lake, Detective, and Macie. As a Systems Development Engineer on our team, you\'ll use AI tooling and your coding skills to automate the delivery and operations of security services at scale. If you thrive in operating complex systems and resolving the hardest problems, please apply. This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. Operate within a team of peer engineers with autonomy to solve complex systems engineering problems through innovative approaches. Provide guidance on system architecture and recommend solutions in alignment with systems engineering best practices. Calmly and quickly diagnose and fix critical system failures in high-pressure situations to reduce Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR). Engineer Operational Improvements to reduce operational efforts to Keep the Lights On. Troubleshoot unknown-unknown problems into known-known root causes using a holistic knowledge of systems to break the problem down and isolate the cause(s); then drive them to resolution. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust Experience with Linux/Unix Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above Preferred Qualifications

The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $129,200/year up to $174,800/year. The National base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
