Overview
Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Unix System Administrators and Systems Engineers to join our data center operations team for one of our semiconductor client's on-premise, private cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be faced with the challenge of providing and maintaining a compute farm of systems which includes Builders, Packagers, and Testers that act as a test-bed for our developers worldwide to test various hardware and software elements prior to release. Base pay range: $40.00/hr - $70.00/hr Offers comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision plans, sick time and 401(K). Pay: $40-$70/hour + 1.5 for overtime. 12 month contract with likely extensions. Schedule M-F 8AM - 5PM on site in Hillsboro, OR. Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and maintain Unix/Linux servers in a high-availability data center environment. Perform system upgrades, patch management, and performance tuning. Collaborate with systems engineers to design and implement infrastructure solutions. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across physical and virtual environments. Manage server provisioning, configuration, and automation using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack. Ensure compliance with security policies and implement best practices for system hardening. Support disaster recovery planning and execution. Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Collaborate closely with engineering teams (system architects, hardware/software engineers, QA, and more) to craft, develop, debug, and release next-generation products. Manage and maintain a high-performing fleet of builders, packagers, testers, and core infrastructure. Ensure availability targets are consistently met and lead system recovery efforts. Plan, deploy, and maintain on-premises infrastructure, collaborating with datacenter and network engineering teams. Must Haves
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technical Major (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a data center Proficient in scripting in Python, Bash, and PowerShell Proven experience in data centers or large engineering labs Proficiency in DCIM (Nautobot, etc.) and scripting (shell, Python, Ansible) Working knowledge of protocols/services like TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSL, etc. Experience with Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems. Hands-on experience with PCBs, GPUs, and system deployments. Experience using automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack. Proficiency in DCIM (Nautobot, etc.) Working knowledge of protocols/services like TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSL, etc. Recent and strong experience working in an enterprise Data Center Hands-on experience with PCBs, GPUs, and system deployments. Plusses
Strong background in systems engineering and administration, with an understanding of dense datacenter design, including compute, storage, and networking. Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Server+, CCNA Mechanically inclined and comfortable with tools and physical tasks. Are energetic and enthusiastic. Seniority level
