Overview

Catering Sales Manager - The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago. Recognized as the gold standard of hospitality, The Ritz-Carlton selects professionals who reflect our values. This role focuses on soliciting, capturing, planning and coordinating catering and small meetings (10 rooms or less), social and catering-only functions, while maximizing banquet space to meet and ideally exceed catering revenue goals. Responsibilities

Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, and related efforts while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals. Execute a territorial marketing strategy to maximize revenue and meet or exceed sales goals. Plan, upsell, and detail meetings/functions with clients including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc. Complete contracts and paperwork (e.g., banquet event orders), coordinate with hotel areas, and resolve issues to ensure quality delivery and customer satisfaction. Prepare status and period-end reports. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate and hotel procedures, products, and competition to continually improve sales strategies and achieve goals. Communicate professionally and positively with guests and associates. Qualifications

Education/Formal Training More than two years of post-high school education. Experience Experience required by position is from one to two full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s). Knowledge/Skills Requires thorough knowledge of catering, food and beverage, menu development and pricing; hotel policies and procedures; ability to analyze ongoing activities and make recommendations; strong negotiation and communication skills; ability to drive to outside sales calls; ability to develop marketing plans and menus.
