Under general supervision, the Medical Technologist performs all laboratory procedures as required according to established Health System and Departmental Policies and Procedures, and maintains the ability to work independently, without direct supervision. Utilizes quality control for decision making on a routine basis to establish standards. Communicates critical values in accordance with departmental policy. Recognizes abnormal results and takes appropriate action in accordance with departmental policy. Accurately performs stat and routine orders within established time limits. Consistently demonstrates teamwork. Recognizes problems and takes appropriate action. Priorities workload based on volume/urgency. Adequately collects and/or processes specimens. Communicates current status of workstation to appropriate personnel including on-coming shifts. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required. Blood Bank experience required. At least 1 year Blood bank work experience preferred. Exceptional customer service, communication, attention to detail, self-motivated and work in an efficient and effective manner. ASCP (American Association of Clinical Pathologist) or AMT (American Medical Technologist) certification preferred. Laboratory experience in an acute care/hospital setting preferred. What We Offer
