Sagis Diagnostics

is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. We offer the highest quality services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals. One of our strengths is developing strong collaborative relationships with referring physicians by offering accurate, prompt, and clear diagnoses in a personal and customized manner. Responsibilities

Perform a variety of clinical laboratory procedures including nucleic acid extraction and quantification, PCR, Sanger sequencing, and next-generation sequencing pursuant to established protocols. Perform both manual and automated techniques to accomplish high-volume sample processing. Participate in equipment maintenance, QC/QA, and proficiency testing procedures. Provide detailed, accurate and legible documentation associated with test results, maintenance records, and quality control. Troubleshoot assays as needed, with assistance from laboratory management. Assist with the validation of new assays. Complete other laboratory tasks as assigned. Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday, with weekly alternating shifts (morning and afternoon), and occasional weekend days. Qualifications

MB(ASCP) Certified Master of Science degree in biology or molecular biology preferred; other related majors will also be considered. At least one year of experience in a molecular diagnostic laboratory. Familiarity with high throughput real-time PCR techniques on Biomark HD or QuantStudio 12K platform. Familiarity with next generation sequencing on the Illumina platform is preferred. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen concepts is a plus. Detail-oriented and able to exercise independent judgment. Self-starter, works with a focused sense of urgency to resolve issues and complete tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Physical requirements: work involves some physical effort; lifting or other light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) is required. Competencies
