Overview This Trainer IV monitors the effectiveness of training on class participants using individual or group performance results. Delivers specialized training and workshops to class participants which may include military members, civilians, and public health professionals. A Trainer IV develops or assists in the development of new training program design and provides enhancements to existing program lesson plans and training aids. Collects feedback on sessions from attendees to supplement improvements to future content and presentations. In addition, Trainer IV may specialize in a particular subject, training program, or function. Trainer IV has clinical experience in preventive medicine/public health and infectious disease. Work requires the ability to work independently and in a team. May assume a team lead role on assigned projects.
This position will be in support of
United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID)
Technical Research Support Services located at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD. USAMRIID works closely with other U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) organizations, Department of Defense (DoD), the Interagency (including Interagency Laboratories), and private companies to accomplish its mission of protecting the Warfighter from biological threats and being prepared to investigate disease outbreaks or threats to public health. This includes conducting Research, Development, Testing, & Evaluation (RDTE) of medical countermeasures against biological threats and the safety, quality assurance, project management, and core support required for these research activities.

Responsibilities
The Contractor shall assist with administrative support and participate in the development of technology-based training/education tools as required by USAMRIID. The Contractor shall support USAMRIID with an experienced Nurse, familiar with technology-based training and education programs, specifically assisting in staff coordination at the USAMRIID level as required by the Chief, Training and Education Branch.
The principal objective is to assist in the conduct of USAMRIID’s medical training in infectious disease and public health. The Contractor shall support one full-time Nurse familiar in healthcare management of infectious diseases, particularly those potentially used in bioterrorism incidents, and technology-based or resident-based training and education programs. Assisting with staff coordination as required at the USAMRIID level.
Contractor shall participate in USAMRIID’s training programs as a training Subject Matter Expert to support resident and on-line programs provided to CONUS & OCONUS organizations as directed.
In collaboration with the DoM Chief of Training and Education, assist with the preparation and revision of training materials and provide all prepared materials and proposed revisions to Division leadership for review.
Assist with research of supplementary training methods, materials, and simulations as directed.
Participate in the development of necessary medical training projects and attend meetings/presentations related to assigned duties.
Provide training to staff and co-workers in planned medical training programs as requested by Division leadership; provide administrative and logistics support for meetings and conferences as required.
Travel CONUS and OCONUS as needed to perform duties in support of USAMRIID’s training & education programs. Maintain a valid U.S. passport. Travel of one (1) to ten (10) nights per month may be required.
Obtain and maintain an eligibility for a SECRET security clearance.
FIELD IDENTIFICATION of BIOLOGICAL WARFARE AGENTS (FIBWA) TRAINING SUPPORT
Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Masters preferred
Minimum of 10 years experience of combined informatics, management, EMR systems (military & civilian), clinical care of patients, staff education experience, and knowledge of infectious diseases.
Requires a state nursing licensure within the U.S
Preferred Qualifications
1) Experience in a professional position providing training and education, guidance and technical expertise in interdisciplinary/multi-service teams of professions, extensive clinical experience in preventive medicine/public health with emphasis in infectious diseases. 2) Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Exceptional knowledge and understanding of the program and the underlying blended model of care.
Outstanding interpersonal and written communications skills to interface with senior leadership and administrative staff. Strong managerial skills.
Ability to monitor and conduct quality control checks of local program implementation at multiple sites worldwide for workflow and performance.
Self-directed with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience and familiarity with military command structure, rules and regulations and its unique culture.
Familiarity with the military health care system.
Outstanding group presentation and teaching skills; experience with change management principles and multimedia teaching methodologies.
Proficiency with computer software including word processing, presentation, desktop publishing, and data management.
Ability to initiate and solve problems independently and work well in a team.
Physical Capabilities
Lifting: up to 10 lbs.
Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance
Work Environment
This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $88,600 - $150,800. Actual salary/hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
