Edna Mahan Correctional Facility located in Clinton, NJ Responsibilities

Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological and emotional needs of residents, including adolescents (13-17), adults (18-64) and their families within the correctional system. Performs assessments of residents in various settings such as initial intake, health care unit, emergency situations in housing, chronic care clinics and infirmary. Collaborates with a variety of health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment. Identifies inmate-centered goals and nursing objectives and implements prescribed interventions and solutions. Plans nursing care by identifying resident-patient needs based on assessments; makes appropriate, timely referrals and initiates nursing care per institutional policies and procedures. As team leader or charge nurse, delegates duties to other health care team members based on their skill, knowledge and experience and guides the provision of care by others. Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey. Minimum of one (1) year of psychiatric nursing experience. Nursing license to practice in the State of New Jersey. CPR Certification. Valid Driver\'s License required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another. Preferred: Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or its equivalent. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Work arrangement: This position requires a full onsite work arrangement. Standard hours: 40.00 per week; Working hours per week: 20; Daily work shift: Day; Position status: Part Time. Salary: Minimum $37,230; Mid-range $46,540; Maximum $54,050. Final salary offer determined by qualifications, experience, and funding, with consideration of market benchmarks and internal equity. Must be approved by the Department of Corrections and adhere to all DOC requirements. Physical demands include capability to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes; able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds and assist in lifting and rotating patients up to 50 pounds. Immunization & equal opportunity
