Equipment Engineer role at Micron Technology in Manassas, VA. As an Equipment Engineer in Manassas, you will have ownership for 300mm equipment in a high-tech manufacturing line. Typical duties include utilizing automation systems to achieve high volume manufacturing, supporting new tool installations, optimizing process and tool operating conditions, minimizing human and machine induced errors, implementing statistical process control systems, and innovating engineering solutions to eliminate risk and improve measurement sensitivity. Work will involve collaborating with other engineering areas to resolve integration and defect issues, leading actions outside areas of direct responsibility as needed, coordinating with vendor groups to drive support and improvements, developing process and procedural improvements, and providing detailed documentation and training to shift personnel as needed. You will identify opportunities for productivity enhancements and equipment optimization to improve product quality and reduce total cost of ownership, in accordance with Micron’s core values. Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve integration and defect-related issues and lead cross-functional actions as needed. Lead interactions with vendor groups to drive support, improvement, and demonstration activities. Develop process and procedural improvements and provide detailed documentation and training to shift personnel. Identify opportunities for productivity enhancements and equipment optimization to improve product quality and reduce cost of ownership. Ensure work complies with Micron’s core values. Minimum Qualifications
Two or fewer years of full-time work experience. BS or MS degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Strong understanding and hands-on experience with CVD equipment, including LAM/Novellus, AMAT Producer, AMAT Centura, and TEL Trias. Detail oriented and data driven to supervise equipment performance, develop Pareto analysis of tool issues, and lead vendor support through continuous improvement projects (CIP). Sound methodology for coordinating work, setting priorities, and building a work plan. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendor counterparts. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address equipment-related issues. Solid understanding of facilities systems that support the tools (e.g., hazardous production material, gas valve manifold boxes, pumps, scrubbers). Ability to lead cost-reduction efforts and demonstrate initiative and perseverance in setting up CIP activities, redesigns, or procedure modifications. Preferred Qualifications
